Why 'I understand it' isn't the same as 'I can do it under exam conditions'
It's common for a Maths topic to feel completely clear in class, only for the same question type to feel unfamiliar a few weeks later in a timed test.
That gap exists because understanding and fluency are different skills. Understanding means you can follow the logic when it's explained. Fluency means you can produce it yourself, from a blank page, under time pressure.
The fix is repetition spaced out over time — not doing twenty of the same question in one sitting, but revisiting the topic a few days later, then a few weeks later, each time from a blank page.
If a topic still feels shaky after that kind of spaced practice, that's the signal to ask for help on it specifically, rather than waiting until revision season to notice the gap.
